About
Hi, I’m Nuno Barreiro — software engineer, architect, and curious mind based in Portugal.
Kernel of Thought is my digital space for unpacking ideas, debugging perspectives, and occasionally compiling something meaningful from the noise. It’s where I document the fragments that shape my thinking — from low-level code to high-level reflection.
While much of what I write revolves around technology, programming, and systems design, this blog isn’t just a technical notebook. It’s also a place for personal growth, career insights, and the occasional philosophical detour. I believe that the way we build software is deeply connected to the way we build ourselves.
Outside the terminal, I’m drawn to the rhythm of guitar strings, the strategy of board games, and the aesthetics of Japanese culture — anime, manga, and beyond. I ride motorcycles and dabble in amateur cooking (with wildly varying results). Most importantly, I value time with my family and the quiet moments that help me reboot.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find something here that sparks a thought, a question, or a new direction.
